God’s Wrath Directed Toward Republican Convention

The Republican National Convention is about to start and there’s a storm a’brewin’.   Yes friends, God is pissed and she ain’t gonna take it anymore.

It seems the Fundamentalist Christians, or the “Mentals” as they are more appropriately known, pointed out that Hurricane Katrina was God’s punishment against New Orleans and all the gays who reside there. (Why San Francisco is still standing is another mystery of God.)

Now we have Hurricane Isaac bearing down on ground zero of the Republican Bacchanalia. I feel the hand of Providence was instrumental in naming this storm Isaac. It is the perfect Biblical parallel. Just as Abraham was ready to sacrifice Isaac to God, so is the Republican Party poised to make a sacrifice of their own. They are preparing to sacrifice the entire middle class, women’s rights, voter’s rights, affordable health care, and common sense in the name of their God. Their God who is known as the top 5%.

God stayed Abraham’s hand at the last moment and I now have faith she will halt the Republicans with a seraphic call of, “Seriously? That’s your platform?” Followed by torrents of rain, frogs, and the scattering of very disappointed high-priced hookers.

“All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are -- were recipients of the judgment of God for that.”

“All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are — were recipients of the judgment of God for that.” (Pastor John Hagee on Christian Zionism, September 18, 2006)

Republican pseudo pastor and psycho cheerleader Rev. John Hagee took a stand that Katrina was God’s punishment. So John, what are you thinking now? If God swept Katrina through New Orleans, then what’s sweeping into Tampa? You just can’t have it both ways.

 In his own words:

“All hurricanes are acts of God, because God controls the heavens. I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they are — were recipients of the judgment of God for that.”   (National Public Radio, Fresh Air from WHYY Pastor John Hagee on Christian Zionism, September 18, 2006.)

So as we watch the weather ask your self this, “Is God trying to speak to us?” Or perhaps we should just actually use our own God-given brain and turn off Fox news. Read some actual facts. Look at some actual news. Pull your head out of your ass.

  1. Alan, you had me with the first paragraph!
The GOP/RNC simply assume that things always go better with Koch so perhaps, what with the Mormon and Mammon confusion wrought by the Mitt, the rains are indeed smiting/pissing upon the wretches.

(BTW Alan, miss your pithy observations and hope to hear so much more from you, please? Who doesn’t love an election!)

  2. Patti, I just stopped by your blog. Like fine wine, it gets better with time, and multiple glasses. I am going to try to be a little more active. Long weird summer but not blog worthy. Thanks for your patience.

    • Well Harry that question would make a post in itself. The extreme Christian fundamentalists are like the extremists of any religion. They’re like a fat man at a buffet when it comes to the Bible. They just pick out the tasty parts they like to prove their ignorant points and leave the good stuff behind.

So? What do you think?
